Hello beautiful people!
The entire month of February was a lot of back-and-forth with the production team, waiting, reviewing the proofs, sending edits, etc. Things were extremely busy on their end so we had to wait BUT things are finally moving ahead. 😭🥳🧿
We wanted to be mindful of our promised deadline so they could only send us the physical sample deck - no physical sample booklet, which is fine since we have reviewed it through digital copy. Some of the cards appeared to be difficult to see so we will take the time to correct the colors, brightness, contrast, etc. Besides that, the card texture and shuffling ease feels AMAZING. We will probably test the deck out on TikTok @intentionswithin sometime this week. Photos are at the end of this update - please review the rest of the update thoroughly! (Since this is still a work-in-progress and the sample serves as a final review step, the final product may look differently. )

We decided to allow our backers to select their color choice for the DWD tarot deck! Which means - you can choose between SILVER or GOLD at no additional cost. 😍
- Silver matte edges with silver holographic foil
- Gold matte edges with gold holographic foil
The holographic foil has a rainbow tint to it. I'll add the preview mock-up again below for you to see. I also received samples of the silver matte and gold matte edges and that is pictured below as well.

In the case where you do NOT select a choice color, it'll be random with whatever is available left.
- There are no returns or exchanges due to limited print and there is no plans to reprint/restock so choose carefully!
⚠️⚠️DEADLINE & TIMELINE⚠️⚠️
- Last call for preorders and add-ons will be Sunday, April 2nd, 11:59 PM PDT. We will also charge the preorders and any add-ons you've added then as well. If you haven't preordered, do so now on BackerKit!

Shipping costs will still be charged later as we get closer to the expected shipping month - so in total, there will be two separate charges. Yes, we will include a deadline for shipping address confirmations so you are aware ahead of time. Right now, 85% of our backers have completed their survey on BackerKit - we will send out reminders as we move closer to May 2023.
If everything goes well, here is what the *ideal* timeline looks like:

APRIL 2ND: Final confirmation of numbers and order of the deck and add-ons.

END OF APRIL: Receive finished products and weigh them accurately to add in shipping costs. We will announce a deadline for final shipping addresses in BackerKit - PLEASE make sure your shipping address is up to date and you check your email often.

MAY 2023: Shipment prepped and ready to send out our wonderful backers. Backers will receive a tracking number - again, make sure your email is correct and active.

Below are the difference between silver or gold matte edges. Photos don't do justice since it looks much more sparkly in its subtleness and our camera sucks, haha.
The feel and sturdiness of the cards is amazing and shuffling is super easy. The color looks great!
Some of the cards looked much darker/harder to see in its physical form. Cards like the 7 of Swords, 3 of Swords, and 2 of Coins will be adjusted to make sure its beautiful details can be seen.
🥳Guidebook and Final Cards

Hi everyone!
Hope y'all had a wonderful New Year and Lunar New Year! We wanted to give another update.
Below are the previews for the guidebook as well as remaining cards: 2 of Coins, Queen of Cups, and The Empress along with the redesign of The Emperor.
With that - everything is in order for us to submit the files to our production manager! She's still out with her family celebrating Lunar New Year so we anticipate the start of the sample printing process sometime next week (give or take).
Next steps:
- We will receive the sample tarot deck and guidebook. We will share the photos of the sample deck in an update.
We will announce a deadline for pre-orders shortly so if you haven't placed an order, head over to the BackerKit pre-order store.

Remember that you will have the opportunity to edit your survey at any given time before our last call for pre-orders. We will announce the deadline well in advanced before we lock orders in/charge so no worries there!

Please make sure you're using an email you check often as you'll receive an email from us with your link to the BackerKit survey, which will ask you questions about your reward preferences, provide shipping information, and purchase add-on items if you like. You don’t have access to this survey link yet, but it will be available soon via email!

Current Backers: you will be able to purchase any add-ons once you receive the BackerKit survey.

Early Bird Pledges: shipping was included on Kickstarter so you should be able to see the additional shipping in your pledge on BackerKit as credit - which means you can use it for additional items or keep it as credit until shipping costs are calculated for it to be adjusted.

Dropped Backers: BackerKit will send you an email and you will have the ability to make the pledge.

New Backers: you can make your purchase/pledge on BackerKit directly.

After you respond to your survey, you can go back later and change your responses at any time before we close the surveys and get our final counts.
Due to the volatility of shipping prices globally right now, shipping fees for this project will be calculated at a later date once we have the best estimates for everyone. We plan to enter & charge backers for shipping a month or two before fulfillment when we have better estimates of what it will cost to ship backers rewards. We will alert backers when shipping costs are finalized & before we charge your cards in your BackerKit survey - this would be a separate charge from add-ons. We figured it would be easiest to do it through there as we want to minimize as much confusion as possible.
💦 Stretch goals and new changes to the deck:
Given an overwhelming request to make the bonus cards and holographic detail as add-ons.... we figured, why not include them? While we did not reach all of our stretch goals on Kickstarter, we decided to make adjustments to allow the following changes to happen.

Bonus cards: At no additional cost, every deck pledge will include the 2 bonus cards: the Nightmare and Déjà Vu!

Holographic detail: Back card design will include the pretty holographic foil details - also at no additional cost.

Guidebook: It will be paperback and in full color, not hardcover.
✍🏽 Next steps for us:
- Finalize the deck box design.
- Finalize the art - only 3 cards left that are in-progress.
- Finalize back card design details for holographic foil printing.
- Finalize the guidebook - this was just moved forward to the proofreading stage.
- Share the entire tarot art imagery to our supporters once it is completely finished.
- Submit to the printer for a physical sample for additional review.
